Can I get a photo mentor?

My question doesn't relate to domains exactly. Actually, my real reason for pretending to be interested in these domain thingamajigs and for paying to become a member on here is ... well, honestly, to get one of those really cool profile pictures that I see people sporting around DNForum.

So I've got my pic uploaded, but I have no idea how to get it to stick to my posts. Are there any DNForum greybeards ready to impart their sage advice on this matter?
