As a holder of a lot of traffic names:

He's either owned it for a long time and it suddenly had an amazing ten days and normally earns a lot less

or

He just picked it up 10 days ago in a drop auction for cheap and doesn't want to gamble that the revenue will always be this good

As always, the other project stuff is likely BS

I wouldn't accuse him of lying. But what I have a hard time understanding is, if all it took was 10 days to earn $300... why not wait it out a little longer and have your full $1,000 again and again?

The name didn't get dropped... it was created in 06.

The domain was registered on October 3rd of this year, it was dropped.

He obviously is not confident the traffic and revenue would hold so he's cashing out.
