I would prefer to see the name as "childrensbook.org", but
as is IMO reseller value $15-25.

Thanks BIG for the appraisal :goofy:

Well how could the "s" work with this beside it being possive....children is already plural for child.

Children Books (mine) gets a google result of : 4,680,000
Children's Book gets a google result of : 362,000
Children's Books gets a google result of : 4,150,000
Childrens Books gets a google result of : 281,000
Childrens Book gets a google result of : 47,200

Am I missing something here, with only one person with an appraisal no less. I thought this was a killer name. Am I wrong??

Yeah, you're wrong. The phrase certainly is "children's books" and not "children books". If you look at the results in Google, you won't see ONE mention of "children books" anywhere. Everything... *everything* in bold on that page (and all that follow) reads "children's books". Some odd behavior, I agree.

The question seems to be "why is Google acting funny on these keywords", and not "see how popular it is". Even overture thinks the dominant phrase is "child book", and we know that can't be right. Sometimes its just one of those things.

As for the name you have, I would not even give it reg fee (for the .ORG). I would feel the same about most typo names in extensions other than .COM, but that's just my personal feeling.

Ok.....I know there is a phrase Children's books, but this domain is just impling children books...it could be a list of children books.

Do we say adult's books...no we say adult books.....thats what this is....it could be a list of children books.....can you see it know, and there is no plural (childrens) on this name because it all ready is.

I wasn't regging the name for the phrase...but for the use if the name... Children Books....not kid books, not adult books, children books.

Thats what I see. Oh well.....I give up....:-# :-D

Ok, here's something interesting... AllTheWeb seems more accurate about the term's "hits".
"children's books" 2,236,142
"children books" 127,928 (Looking at the results, I honestly think many of these are editorial oversights)

Regarding your argument, you're missing one vital point...

Main Entry: child
Pronunciation: 'chI(&)ld
Function: noun

Main Entry: 1 adult
Pronunciation: &-'d&lt, 'a-"d&lt
Function: adjective
Main Entry: 2 adult
Function: noun
Date: 1658

I think that's where the misunderstanding might creep in.

Not that you can't say "cat books" or "dog books", but "feline fiction" is far more grammatical. "Children's Books" is pretty much the phrase most people have married.

That said, you're in good company in the namespace though. UltSearch has the dotCOM. Most all of the domains don't go anywhere though. Visitors would be better off using a search engine. :)

Take a look at some of the Google citations (under "children's books) and you'll see that biggedon and Nexus are 100% grammatically correctomundo.org ... so much so that the difference in citations returned is a whopping 4.7 million.

Still, it's a nice name ... ($20-40)

Good luck,

Scott

Shaggy, I hope my posts didn't come off rude. I can see I was in a fairly "frank" mode when I posted them.

No Nexus...I'm glad that you have done some research on it. This is a appraisal thread, and everyone is entitled to their opinions.

I'm in no means mad, just wish now I also owned childrensbooks.org :-D

Thanks for all the appraisals!
