There are A LOT of French-speaking expatriats living and working in China. And for those who speak only English, there's actually a place called Europe where people speak French, German, etc. So for the French who can't get chine.fr, chine.cn is a decent alternative. Not a million dollar name, but definitely has a market - targeting China trade and travel - among the Francophone.

average name, worthless extenstion. Add those together and you get a domain worth less then the fee you paid to obtain it.

Hi Nameslave, don't envy you job as moderator here.
It is amazing the ingnorance and lack of knowledge of some of these self styled " appraisal experts".

We're actually looking into viable ways to prevent this Appraisal forum from encoring the old AfterNIC.com farce by e.g. asking for no-nonsense appraisals with elaboration instead of authoritative sounding comments like "$0" or "Reg fee" with no substantiation.

Great, this is too professional a site and business to have to put up with some of these people.

This is worth quite a bit more than "reg fee" WOW!

I would not be surprised to see this sell retail for $100,000 or more down the road in a good market.

GiantDomains - please refer to comments by Nameslave in this thread. I assume as a moderator you have been privy to discussions re "proper" appraisals?

Be nice if you could set a better example and maybe there would be no necessity for adittional rules!

Interpretation of the eek face: "$100,000 .... that seems like a really high appraisal for a french spelled .cn"

:D Better?
