I have just received another inquiry via email on CloudStreaming.com.

Meanwhile, I was pleasantly surprised to see that CloudStreamingMedia.com was still available.

Not now.

Not to rain on your parade but JQuery is a client-side JavaScript library so nothing cloud about it. But.. it looks cool and maybe there is an angle to this.. so, why the hell not?! Good Luck with it!

Few cloud names I picked up here and there are:
Hospicloud.com (Hospital records being securely kept out in the cloud)
UVCloud.com
Cloudiologist.com (a doctor/consultant for the cloud.. a play on cardiologist which sounds similar)

That's a good pickup this late in the game.

Everything cloud will be streaming.

Just as I had feared, cloud computing is also a form of outsourcing and we are seeing more and more cutbacks while adopting cloud services. Many mega corporations are cutting their IT staff to the bare bones.

The hospital my wife works at (huge, with 18,000 employees) recently laid off over 110 IT staff. Some of this can be contributed to joining of services into one cohesive unit - the medical school and hospital were each treated as separate entities but are now one incorporated entity.

But much of this is also because of putting much of the services on the cloud. I do not think they have yet put vital personal information but mundane repetitive tasks, forms, services, etc.

And this morning I was reading this story on Business Week:

"IT transformation," cloud = loss of 850 IT jobs at State Street

And later this comment left on the story> “Don't blame job cuts on the cloud. Blame increased efficiency (a good thing) and changing nature of IT”

Anyways, for those that don't quite know what cloud computing is and what it entails and are blindly regging everything with the word cloud in it, that is a little snapshot of what cloud computing is. Rather than having a massive IT department managing servers and systems and installations in-house, that is going somewhere else. In essence, it is the new outsourcing.

Thanks for the healthy reminder... that people should try to understand what cloud is about before they push the register button :)

I registered these because I believe that they have all the right keywords.

CloudEnterpriseServices.com

CloudEnterpriseConsulting.com

CloudEnterpriseApps.com

Haven't had any offers yet, but I sure could use a few sales to recoup my initial investment.

PS: How do you all go about selling your cloud domains, do you contact end-users or do you just list them on different market places and wait for them to contact you.

I program in PHP, HTML5 and JQuery/JQuery, I did look at this issue but I could see jquery js library and standard CSS are kept server side.

Example:

<title>New York | Big Apple</title>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="http://code.jquery.com/mobile/1.0b1/jquery.mobile-1.0b1.min.csshttp://code.jquery.com/mobile/1.0b1/jquery.mobile-1.0b1.min.css" />

Just got PublicCloudProviders.com and Cloud4Public.com.

Cloud computing will cause an upheaval in IT infrastructure and departments for firms all over the globe when it becomes mainstream. I think there will be new opportunities. It isn't a stretch to say we are entering the third age in the advancement of computing.

Obviously, there will be those that disdain cloud computing and everything it represents - fewer jobs, outsourcing, and some believe a larger green footprint than already exists in power consumption. This is a very heated and debated topic. Think of the debate about global warming and the views of both sides and that pretty much describes the sides being taken in this argument.

I think Apple might be unhappy with this, unless Apple is the buyer???

If you want to look at it that way, the HTML is kept out on the server also.

The use of "Cloud" can be as vague as possible since it really is just a fresher & sexier way to say "The Internet"... however, IMO, the intention for "Cloud" as it is being used by the large companies is purely an efficiency play as it allows the buyer of the Cloud service to use it as a plug & play without having to worry about the hardware, software, db, redundancy, etc... like how your electricity & water at home is. You don't care about where that electricity is coming from, just as long as it powers my appliances.

Yes Mr Curly, I used to own that name, it was a hand reg for me a couple of years ago!

And guess what? I sold it last year for $60, talk about sellers remorse!
