What the does that have to do with the sale to Overstock? You link to this random stuff or post up things that have absolutely nothing to do with this, trying to make some kind of case. Believe it or not, companies do spend some money sometimes. You have nothing concrete whatsoever that this isn't a legit sale.

You seem to trust the hype of some new extention, when there is clearly every incentive to drag a bunch of suckers into the game. So, you can believe that the 350K deal is 100 percent a truly negotiated sale.......and I will believe it is not. Just like the FBI Agents.....they cheated when there was an incentive to cheat.

Not all scams get exposed. Past history shows that these extentions are full of scams, fraud, and shady dealings. Every single time these exentions come out I see the same pumpers trying to get their fake sales listed on Dn Journal and elsewhere. In fact, I busted one of these scumbag pumpers in 2006, by exposing his fraud in a thread. He is in this thread currently, as well.

He cried like a baby and threatened everybody, but I ended up being right. He wasn't banned, but they ran me out of here, but I am back now, and everybody involved knows that he is a fraud.

I don't have any care in the world if you guys buy and sell a bunch of names amongst yourselves.....have fun doing that. But, if and when I see deals going down that don't smell right, then I am probably going to speak up, since the scammers are using other people to do their dirty work......mainly selling names to friends and then having their sales listed at Dn Journal and then running around telling everybody about the sale (that wasn't legit). They always have a bunch of similar names they are looking to sell based on the fraudulent price, too.

I was right about every sale I thought was a scam. If the sales weren't scams then nobody would get worked up about it. After all, if it is such a good deal, and such a good price, then who cares what someone else thinks? That is the key. The scammers know that they must continue to pump the crappy names so they start yelling that you can't prove it wasn't legit. If the names were actually worth ten cents, then the people involved should love to have guys like me warning others. That way, they can load up and buy more for themselves.

You either understand the game, or you do not.

I'm all for exposing scams, I'm also for facts and not running around message boards throwing around accusations that you can't back up. So far you've provided absolutely nothing in this case.

Wanted to add, this actually makes sense. It's been mentioned already in this thread and then articles like below, read it carefully:

"As Overstock changes from strictly a liquidator to a general retailer we think that having a name different from Overstock will be beneficial to the brand,” he says. “We will continue branding ourselves as Overstock.com for the near future but over time we may morph into O.”

Overstock considers “O” to be an integral element of its brand recognition and current marketing initiatives, says Johnson. For instance, the retailer’s loyalty program is called Club O loyalty program and its wholesale site is located at O.biz."

http://www.internetretailer.com/2010/07/20/overstock-buys-oco-domain-name

Just like http://www.q.com goes to Qwest.

They bought o.biz and o.co because they hope one day to get o.com. Marketing/branding. Not this crazy scam stuff you're talking about.

One more thing I just found out. Earlier I bolded the part where it was urls, not just the o.co for that price, they also got 0.co (zero.co). From - http://www.investors.com/NewsAndAna...Name-Extension-Dot-Co-Attracting-Buyers-.aspx

Which goes a little more into what I was talking about. Branding ---> Brand protection

WTD - listen to Webmasters Radio interview of Overstock CEO. Enough with the conspiracies.
Overstock is a public company, the $350k charge will appear in their annual report. I'm sure you will call that a "scam" also.

Just because there are people out there pushing fake sales to jack up resale prices doesn't mean Overstock is involved. The type of people doing this are the sleazy type - either sleazy because they can't succeed another way or sleazy because of their greed. Either way they are truly unhappy and need money and material possessions to convince themselves otherwise. They measure their worth in dollars, and don't see how worth could be measured any other way (or they are otherwise worthless themselves). It truly is a pathetic mindset that will never lead to real and lasting happiness.

If all the scammers and sleazy people would just put those same efforts into something legitimate, they would probably make out the same or better.

I find some plural pick of domains. Is it advisable to buy domains in plural form. This is my doubt. Please clarify.

What to clarify? You can buy any domain as long as it is fit to your business plan.
