Some facts:

There are approximately 6 billion people on this planet.

Approximately 4.5 billion of those people drink some form of coffee every morning.

The market is exponential.

This name is priceless. To put a price tag on it undeveloped would be pointless. Developed, it would be in the 6 to 7 figure range.

izopod

Good luck!

Neat, Izopod.

Excellent grounds for valuation! :D

100 million americans alone drink coffee on a regular basis. The US only accounts for 5% of the worlds population. And remember...I did say "a form of coffee". Not everyone grinds up the same stuff if you know what I mean.

http://www.ncausa.org/public/pages/index.cfm?pageid=72de&hl=en&ie=UTF-8

"..By any name, in any language, or at any time of day, coffee is a popular beverage"

Here is a news flash for you, if coffee can be translated into any language, it's as good as the name microsoft or coke (the drink).

I stand by my "well grounded" valuation of Coffee.net.

Now get back to reading the "funnies" section...

Might I recommend a weaker brand like "Linux"...

I bought it to develop. . .

Have some cool ideas, but it will be a long time in the making.

7 figures for coffee.net ?!? Izopod, what have you been drinking? Only a handful of domains have sold for 7 figures, and surely this ain't one of them.

I would peg this one at $2k - $3k resale. After all, $5k can buy you a better .net, such as url.net.

But, seeing how Bob has been very successful, his opinion is probably more in touch with reality.

Maybe you missed it, but that was the "developed" valuation...and it was 6 - 7 figures....(low 7)

I didn't give a "undeveloped" valuation as it would be hard to put a price tag on something that would be worth quite a bit more if developed. That is why I usually don't appraise undeveloped "ultra generic" names.

Bottom line: Not too many other names can give you an immediate presence in a market as Coffee.net would---unless of course you were fortunate enough to get Coffee.com :D

Looks like Bob is doing the right thing and developing. Good luck!!

I can relate totally, Dot, however in the wee hours of the morn, I would probably place it in the $50k range. :D

It is one of the best .nets I've seen. I think there is plenty of room with a generic name like coffee.net for ALL the secondary domain TLD's.

You would be smart to at least put up a for sale page though. Better yet, I'd sign up for every coffee related affiliate program and put a banner page if nothing else.
