.com.cn DNS Problem

Has anyone tried to change the DNS settings on a .com.cn name? I have 2 with enom and when I try to change the settings they give me an error and won't let me go back. I know I'm doing them right because it works for a .us name.

I'm going through enom. Anyone else have this problem?

yep, I've been trying since yesterday and enoms support is crap (IMO)

Let me clarify.. I dont know if enoms support is crap..because they HAVENT answered my email !

That is my only beef with Enom.

I emailed them over a month ago and still haven't gotten a reply.

Its not Enom.

As I warned on a couple of other threads only the CREATE, DELETE, INFO and CHECK commands are currently implemented in the interface to the registry.

There is no MODIFY command at this time so no way to modify names.

Neustar estimates MODIFY will be working in about 45 days.

There is a sneaky way around this if enom are smart: there is a 15-day grace period for deletes so a way to modify a name within 15 days of registration is to delete it and reregister it immediately with the correct information (because of the grace period the registry will only charge the registrar once for the domain).

This .com.cn thingy is a trial run for the integration of the databases. If you've worked with the Chinese authorities before, you'ld understand what I mean.

March 17th second level .cn, here I come. Who wants a bludy .com anyway :evil:

Enom did reply to my email i(in less than 24 hours!). They said the same that has been stated here. That it will take 45 days before DNS settings can be changed.

I bet the Chinese government is busy checking the results of this exercise, for names like MaoZheTongSucks.com.cn.

If you think .US is strict, you can't even begin to comprehend the ability of the Chinese Internet Governing authority to monitor the integrity of their namespace. These people are dead serious.

Well, at least it is a first step forward to China globalisation of the internet
