.COM price will increase by 15-October-2007

Dear Friends,

The price of the most popular gTLDs: .COM and .NET domains will no longer be cheaper as VeriSign will increase the price of these two gTLDs by 15-October-2007. $0.42 for .COM domain and $0.35 for .NET domain respectively.

[ My original text is deleted myself as some of the members feel it is a spam - however we at times do not remember such an important news becuase of our commitments with our own works. I became a GoDaddy reseller because I needed to maintain 100s of domains myself - and a small price diference really counts a lot when the total number of domains under someone's head is large - even when there are promotional one year prices are there from time to time, the renewal price is never cheaper]

However, I keep this information for those who may feel to take steps to avoid paying the overhead prices due to increase in prices by October 2007.

Sure I am a super reseller of GD (GoDaddy). The resellers of GD still continues to offer $6.95 .COM domain while GD is not. I am telling the fact that the prices of .COM domain will be increase by Oct-2007 as VeriSign will charge more to to the registrar offering .COM and .NET domains starting October 15.

This is old news. Verisign was granted a max increase of 7% per annum last year, effective Oct.15th, 2007.

Just got an email from Moniker about this. I wonder how much this is going to raise their $6.95 .com rate?

With the present price of $6 charged by Verisign per .COM, registrar could offer $6.95 .com domains. As the price will be increase by $.42, The offer may eventually expected to increase by about $0.5. This is just my guess. Nevertheless, even if the 1st year registration fee may or may not remain the same, the renewal price will definitely be higher by $.5.
