Which was which? ;)

Hmm, I don't think zzzq would be a last name ;)

ZZZQ.com sounds like "Sleeping Questions" ? ZZZ = :asleep: and Q = Questions - lol.

I didn't know about DCG's LLLL.com buy in 2006, looks like a very smart move at the present time, and for the future. At the time it was probably a bit of a gamble to make such a big investment. Now I see why you picked up the remaining few thousand LLL.ca last year, it all follows the same thinking. I'll be looking out too for any tips you have to give in the forum.

Sachas,

I used to think that way too until I sold zwas.com and zzzq.com for each over 5 figures. Who would have guessed they had value.

They have different reasons for buying them, one of the above was a guy's last name, the other I didn't care. It's always about what the buyer feels it's worth not what I think.

As I get more knowledge daily, I understand the above point.

Hey DCG,

Appreciate the comments.
But there is a fundamental difference between zzzq.com, and zxqv.com. The first one looks and sounds very brandable, the other one does not.

Zwas, as you mentioned, is a last name with 65k Google results, and apparently, the name of some big business group. That makes it valuable automatically.
Zxqv does not have the same benefits.

I might be wrong here, but I have a gut feeling that the lowest LLLL.coms will have a revision in pricing soon.

 if you sold 2 crappy ones like those for above 5 figures, than $1,500,000 for the nicer 4000 names is a very low figure compared to your potential returns.....and somewhat I feel now you got more than 4000 LLLL

And now, he has a portfolio of about 4000 LLLL.com with quality letters that can`t be found for less than $250 - $500 , sometimes not even for more.

Unless they're sold for that price it's just virtual money, not real money.

I tend to agree with this, unless they can be sold within a few days at DNForum for that price, in which case it is better than virtual money.

I have US$2,500,000 plus in virtual money, but wish it was real money.

Still, I think it was a good move on Adam's part. Even if he was able to sell them straight away to a reseller for only US$100 each, that would be $400,000 in real money from a $50,000-ish investment.

Excellent points..and a realistic view on the whole equation. ;)

A few famous quotes:

E. Joseph Crossman - The Greatest Power is often simple patience.

Brian Adams - Learn the art of patience. Apply discipline to your thoughts when they become anxious over the outcome of a goal. Impatience breeds anxiety, fear, discouragement and failure. Patience creates confidence, decisiveness, and a rational outlook, which eventually leads to success.

You can say that about any asset - real estate, art, cars, etc. Some assets are more liquid than others, and some are harder to find buyers for at a moment's notice. In this case with LLLL.com's, especially better ones, there is lots of data on current minimum prices based on all the sales going on in the forums.
