Long. Message boards were replaced by forums and are not that popular.

I agree with GD. More so on it being long.
yes, forums have replaced message boards as the 'term', but it is still used widely, especially by newcomers to the net, and thanks to AOL which calles them message boards still (last time i checked).
the name has some value, but its length doesnt help.
too hard to put a number on it but like I said I believe it does have some value.
