Question: What is the strongest personal identifier on the internet?
Answer: Currently it is the email address. Most people who go online and do business have a email address.
The future: The domain name is the most robust and versatile personal identifier of the future. On a domain name you can have any web feature or trend that comes out.
The problem is the average person coming to and using the internet does not know how to put a web site up!
That is why BLOGGING is growing rapidly.
Why not put the email address/domain name/blogging together????
I have come up with a creative business idea that does just that.
Using the .name as the ultimate individual identifier of people for domain names/email/blogging.
Host blogs and all other future web trends to come out on a .name for sale EMAIL style.
Check out this business idea for sale in the following:
If someone's email is [email protected]
you create a subdomain johnsmith.yahoodotcom.name !
Then use a hosting service with a Wordpress blog you create for that subdomain.
It's that easy.
You can add any features and advertising in a frame above the free blog account;
or, you can have them pay for "No Ads" Blog!

A recent discussion has started about possible trademark concerns and long term business viability. Well, good point indeed. These domains are still available for sale for anyone who wants to take a chance.. it is a creative idea.. and you could build a big traffic site fast.. who knows it may be an avenue to reach Napster status a little before you HAVE to take it down.. grab headlines in the domain and secular world, and grab vast hits and attention for your other site names. By the time you might have to settle, it will be a long time and renown discussion on whether registering a .name name with a GMAILDOTCOM "dotcom" after it was so bad.
