Italian company steals / reverse hijacks REPI.com

http://www.wipo.int/amc/en/domains/s...ase=D2011-0137

I read the case and find this disturbing and the reason why I don't park my domains. REPI company stole this domain name in my opinion. REPI could be used for a thousand things not related to their company.

The owner of Repi.com didn't reply. He could have easily won the case.

Yes I'm aware of that, but the company went ahead and filed a WIPO to steal the domain based on bad faith. This type of practice is called reverse hijacking and in this case it succeeded. The owner of the domain was a victim.

Disturbing assertion by the panel:

D. Registered and Used in Bad Faith

Although the disputed domain name has been registered since May 2, 2002 at the address “www.repi.com”, solely a page containing sponsored links is displayed. Moreover, the disputed domain name is linked with a domain name parking service to generate revenue. This is a common practice among cybersquatters, who have no intention of actually providing any real content or service, but who expect many misguided visitors precisely because of the confusing nature of the domain name.
