DallasTexas.com sold for around $7,000 a while back through ebay. You don't see too many "county" name sales though, still it seems to get a fair amount of searches. I'd say a few thousand to a real estate agency in the area maybe more.

NameYourself is right. Most interested parties likely to be in real estate.

What about foreclosures, speeding tickets, bail bonds and other legal issues, community colleges, local businesses, churches, etc...

Biggest economic potential: real estate. Parties most likely to pay the highest premium for the domain: real estate based. Second biggest: local business related. The other categories trail behind in terms of highest potential (foreclosures, however, generally mean real estate), but of course you can't rule anything out and surprises do happen. With limited time to spend, you want to focus the most energy on the top one or two. Law gets 'honorable mention.' Some lawyers might be interested in a name like that.

True. I will use those other categories with PPC, but if I develop it, will probably focus on real estate.

Thanks for the feedback so far. Does anyone else have different thoughts?

The word “county” makes it more difficult to sell, but geographic domains with a good extension are a real wild card.

Some go for much more that you would believe; and some you can’t give away.

The fact that the county is relatively large helps.

To an interested end user: high $xxx to low $x,xxx

Good luck
