database of domain names?

Hi,

Does anyome know a database of domain name owners with the registration records that would be sold on CDROMS?

I have received a message (spam) selling this database on 5 CDROMS. Any experience with that?

The problem is, it can get outdated QUICKLY.

Registrars have to make available their entire WHOIS database to the public. However, they are permitted to charge a "fee not to exceed $10,000". I hae never heard of anybody actually purchasing this, but I know ICANN namdates that they make it available.
