question Would you use a database of available domains still linked to Google Business Profiles?

This is a general or domain name related question.

I've been experimenting with a way of finding something that I thought might be interesting to other domain investors.

I'm finding domains that are currently available to register but are still linked as the website on a Google Business Profile.

I'm filtering out businesses marked permanently closed, so the interesting results are businesses that still appear to be operating and have an available domain attached to their Google listing.

As an example, during testing today I found an active business with 272 Google reviews where the website domain shown on its Google Business Profile was available to register.

I've tested this across a couple of UK towns/cities and I'm finding results that don't appear in some existing expired local-domain databases.

I'm considering building a larger database around this, with things such as:

  • Domain
  • Business name
  • Business type
  • Town/city
  • Google review count
  • Link to the Google Business Profile
  • Domain availability

Before I spend too much time building it, I'd be interested to know what other domainers think.

Would you find this sort of data useful?

And if you would, would you rather have a searchable database, downloadable lists, or alerts when new ones are found?

I'm not selling anything at the moment — I'm just trying to establish whether there's actually a market for the data.

ahh.. very very nice idea!!

that is smart - you can definitely add some automation - not sure about the Google Business database.
Thanks. Yes, automation is the direction I'm looking at. I've already got the Google Business data side working and have been testing it across different locations, so it's looking quite promising. I'm mainly trying to establish now whether the resulting data is something domain investors would actually find useful.
