i was only shocked to see them take this long to go the pay route i knew those hosting banners wasn't going to last forever...haha..just like any business you must make investments, if you take domain seller (or whatever you do) serious, but shelling out just under 8 fiddy a month is causing a major dent in your bugdet..i'll be dammed ahaha

Does anyone know what extensions do DD support?

DD supports .COM, .NET, and .ORG. I sent an email about supporting the .BIZ, .INFO, .US, .CA, and .CO.UK domains. They are trying!

Here is their reply:

'As for the other extensions, we are working on being able to get ahold of drop lists for them but haven't been able to do so as of yet. We are working on it though!'

I have been using their service for about three years. It is certainly fair that they be paid for it.

That's too bad i used them alot of times .
Just curious does anyone know a free place (or cheaper) similar to http://www.recycled-traffic.com/index.jsp ? I'd be happy to pay for it but $50 a month is too much for me right now :-(

DeletedDomains.com's Today's Deletions doesn't appear to have been updated in about 4 days. I'm a little concerned about this now.

Maybe they are too busy counting the cash coming in :-D

I gladly signed up for a year's subscrip today, not because of what they can do for me tomorrow, but what they did for me in the past. $99 is peanuts for what they gave me for free. My radar was sharpened, and I got many names through this service over the past 2 years by contacting registrants who seem to be slacking in interest on their names, not by waiting for a drop.

DeletedDomains seems to be back in operation now. The site is updating again.

Do you get the impression all these places just build traffic until a certain point, and then start selling the data under some profit model? LocalWhois (free) -> Domainsbot ($$$), DeletedDomains (free) ->DeletedDomains ($$$).

JustDropped-> (?)
SnapCheck-> (?)

Like drugs or something. Only the first one is free. (j/k) :wink:

Snag-A-Name (free) -> PPC page

I think that probably is the initial strategy. it's either that or have 15000 popups and junk all over the site. They gotta pay the bills, plus make some $ too...

Just a quick note for everyone.........

DotComBlitz.cam does the same thing as DeletedDomains, only they offer more options, search functions and more extensions. At they moment they are still free, but are working on going to the paid model shortly.

In addition you can buy the scripts, which are not available by any other
developer.

Another quick note, our DomainsAide product still works perfectly, except for the Domain Stats which is nothing more than eye candy anyway. We got away from the deleteddomain feeds a long time ago and maintain our own list backends.

Doesn't everyone :-(

Meh, some talented scripters should get together and make a good search portal like DeletedDomains, but keep it free, permanently. That would seriously rock.

what the heck is a scripter?
you mean programmer right?
it takes bandwidth, time and money to 'program' such sites.
If you dontae the server and ther bandwidth, the other part is relatively easy.
