It's 28min before the final bell in round 2.

I've been waiting and waiting for 3 hrs now, keeping myself occupied by posting mindless posts in places like DNForum.

One bid?...

hmmm, maybe I shouldn't have bid that high an amount in my sealed bid. There is no one in sight...

Couple of thousands in proxy slammed in at the last minute...

But wait, where are the bidders???... or am I bidding against myself??

Ah.... wonders, and waits....waits.... for some rustle from the bushes... wait... bludy waste of time... wait....

Does pool allow you to bid against yourself? If true, that doesn't make any sense.

Maybe you oughta register something like "APoolUser DOT com", then turn it
into a blog detailing your adventures with Pool. :cheeky:

I rarely if ever use Pool..... what if you spend big bucks on a name that ends up @ a registrar that you can't use & has no interface & doesn't speak english???

Too much trouble.....

I've read this has happened to quite a few domainers.

seems like you're buying names for someone else to make money on, if you have no access to them after winning the bid.

because of these reports , i have never used pool.

You are right. And, that is why I no longer use Pool.

Also stopped using them for many mos over the bad registrar issues and high prices, but lately have used them a bit hoping the registrars are improved. The last one they got for me was reg'd at Namescout who I do not believe is that bad.

IMO, the best way to use Pool.com is simply place the highest sealed bid you can afford or justify at the start, and do not bid again or look at the name at all after the initial sealed bid. Using this method you will likely end up paying much more than at Snapnames without the sealed bid system, and also may pay even more than the name is really worth.

P.S. However, at least you will have less hassle and worry and not get caught up in the last minute auction insanity and too high prices, but again your sealed bid price may be way too high, especially if there are few other bidders (or even none).
