Warning! You are in danger of losing your domain registrations. Your domain registrations expired recently and you could lose your rights to the domains if you don't act soon. There are domain squatters watching for expiring domains. Don’t take that risk. Renew your domains now. That is the first email I have gotten like that. I have a few domains with them from the old school days of domaining. They are really a pain to transfer out of as well.

I work for directNIC, and yes a renewal notice like that is sent 7 days after the domain has expired and the domain has not resolved since the day after it expires. So yes, it is true.
