So much to the naysayers of .net
It's the most mature TLD after .com and will continue to increase in value.
I have 6 $xx,xxx .net sales under my belt; waiting for the big one :D

I agree...I just don't see all the hatred toward .NET's...I personally think they fit the interNET much better than .COM...thus, I have a "few" .NET jewels stowed away for better times! LOL! :ok:
...
They still ARE BY FAR the 2nd BEST after .COM and their time to shine is still coming imho! :ok:
...
But for now, let me get back to my .COM's! LOL!

I enjoy hearing about sales like this.

My Domainer Eyes can only see this as a plus for the industry as a whole.

Congrats' to the seller for his integrity and to the buyer for his shinny new purchase.

Lucky seller who got $200K for .net.

dude was making 3k+ per month with this name...considering thats 36k per annum, I think it was a steal for a generic name...below 6 years revenue. The name itself is worth about 5k

where did it sell?

umm First post!

I am pleased to report this sale, diy.net has completed a deal with $200K(name transferred already), the buyer and seller are both members of domainclub.org.

Definitely one for the record books .... I think we can expect to see some heavily marked up 3 letter .net's for sale on PerfumeBay with references to diy.net's 200k handover.

lol @ perfumebay :cheesy:

wonder how much the guy would have paid for DIY com though :?:

Can we officially declare that this is the 3rd largest sale ever in .NET history (right after sex and real estate),
according to http://www.soldnames.com/top/net/

OR are we missing some data?

I have informed dnjournal.com about this news, however, dnjournal needs more solid proof such as the payment documents. The deal is a private transaction escrowed by buyer's lawyer, the buyer told me that the payment document will not be available for public verification until Jan 2. 2008, so I hope dnjournal will report this sale after dnjournal have verified the necessary documents.

Great!
Thank you for the info :)
Let's all look forward to the great name being put into brilliant use in the near future.

Great sale, excellent price for buyer and seller. With diy.com, diynet.com and doityourself.net all well developed, traffic should be stable for years also, and a potential sale to any of those companies could always be a possibility.

the net extension fits nicely for diy.

Will wait dnjournal to verify this sale and publish it on their site.

Untill then....
