I recommended dnfourm.com get registered a ways back, and it was. Always seems a question however, if its best directed to the website, or just left without forwarding. At times the domain name pointed to this forum. Sometimes it didn't resolve, other times, like now, it pointed to a PPC page. It'd be nice if it did a "refresh" redirect, so the browser address changed, as it forwarded to the correct address.

Hi

I don't know who registered it.

I just know, that it was registered.

There is no guarantee, that the person who registered it,is a member of this forum, or they could be a member here and never saw your post, but still registered it.

Too many scenerios.

Don

Well if i had the money, I would of buyed It and reserved it for them! :undecided

Hope someone buyed it for there purpose!

That is a waste of money. I have never mistyped the site as I bookmark it at the top of my webrowser for one click access. Anyone who ends up at the wrong page will quickly leave and go to the correct site. There is no way you can cover every single typo variation.

i dont think its waste of money. It's a question of strategy. You may bookmark the site, but LOT of this forum users access it from different PCs, and they type the address themselves. If 5% of all visitors mispell the name, and lets SUPPOSE dnforum.com gets 100'000 visits a month (i think they get much more than that), then the owner of a mispelled domain will get 5'000 visits a month for 58 cents ($7/12months). What a deal!

What the owner of the mispelled domain will do depends on his/her strategy, if s/he hates dnforum, then s/he will redirect those XXXX visits a month to another domain name forum, thus advertising for a competing forum at dnforum expense. If s/he wants to make money, a PPC page, or parking page will get him some nice money out of this traffic

I don't think DNForum management would like to see someone profiting from their hard word. So it's not waste of money to reg mispelled names.

Just my 2 cents guys!

What about 5000 visits a month and not one click!
This not a waste. It's a big waste.

I would take 5000 visitors a month for reg fee any day of the week, you better believe a small % of those visitors will click on something

Most of these 5000 visitors are power users. And I don't think power users are so careless...
When I misstype a domain, I know it at once.
I hit the stop button so fast, website forgets I was there! :)

Why didn't you PM DCG about this? Just wanting popularity?

This has nothing to do with expired domains :o
