Do these Domains make sense to register

Hey guys,

I'm the new guy here with a curious question whether these types of domain names are worth registering because I don't think there would be "type in" traffic, but they have the chance on being marketable.

something like dotc.om or billgat.es fa.rt these are just examples and I don't mean to list any actual sites.

making the extention part of the name or phrase will get you nowhere , but one of those examples fa.rt would make sense as a 2 letter investment possibly.

Those are often called "domain hacks" and there are some people who have huge portfolios of them. But I would pretty much stay away, because you'd have to put a lot of marketing power and $$$ behind them to make them work for you. del.icio.us is a perfect example, not only of a domain hack, but also of marketing power needed to make it worthwhile.
