Hi,

I was just wondering if anybody got in an auction where they were the highest bidder at $60 and won the domain for that price...

Because on each domain I backorder, there is always at least one person in the auction, and always this person outbidded me, and I never won the auction under $70 (1 bid)...
I thought that was suspicious, but i'm certainly wrong, i prefer to ask anyway :-P

I've gotten many names from Pool at $60.

In the past, you had to just say to yourself 'heck the name', and not bid during the sealed bid/challengers round. After that you get a Congrats! you won ___ email for $60.

Today, if no one bids for the name, I think you just get the name for $60 immediately.

Yeah sorry, I was speaking of today, since the new system is online...
But the problem is that since the new system is online, i've never been alone in a bid, that's what i was asking for: Has anyone been alone in a bid since the new auctions system is online?

You can see the bidder's id now. Has someone been stalking you? :-D

all domains I've backordered thru Pool had at least one other bidder. Haven't won a domain @ $60 at all.

I've only used Pool once, and I got the name for $60 - there was no bidding involved.

Ok so there's no problem :-D

And i got this in pm
But why does that suprise you?

If it goes to auction, that means there is at least 1 other person interested.

So of course, they might want to win the domain.

Well sorry, i didn't know that, maybe my mind was stuck with the old system that was bringing you in auction even if there are no other bidders.

My appologizes for this lame thread :disappoin

I got a name for $60 recently (after the change). It's been a good one, too, bringing in about $20 in parking revenue the first month.

If so I might try them.

Yes,

I got 6 of them yesterday.

The key to $60 domain is not to go after whate everyone else is going after, find a niche.

You already know everyone goes afteranything with overture so there will be no $60 finds in those.

I'l be telling you if I got mine.
Real curious on this one.
I think they'll keep it fot themselves.
How did you loose you names?
in auction or they just told you they couldn't get it?

Not true:

· If no one else has back-ordered the name, and SnapNames acquires it, the name becomes yours for the minimum bid amount.
· If others have also back-ordered the name, SnapNames will hold a short auction. The winning bidder at the end of the auction will be awarded the name.

You have to bid on many good domains to be lucky to get one $60 domain.
than you have the risk to win many $60 and pay $600....
Thats the catch.
