It seems like every time I try to do a Registrant transfer it's a painful process.

It also seems like every Registrar has a different process for the Registrant transfer. Some don't have a process at all, they just charge a lot to do it themselves.

Is there a Registrar that makes it simple and inexpensive?

(I am not talking about a RegistRAR transfer.)

I agree the process is awful. CIRA should do something about it.
From my experiences namespro is quite good, including for registrant merger operations.

Yeah namespro is really good about it and yes, CIRA needs to improve upon it. And for the next couple of weeks they also have a nice sale price on transfers.

I like it because it keeps your domains safe. The process is basically the same everywhere. You can't get around both buyer/seller not accepting the transfer.

I don't like how every registrar has a different process. It should be standardized. Some only the initial registrant can initiate transfer and with others it is the purchasing registrant who can initiate the transfer.

So now, all is use is Namespro.ca. They are the best hands down and communicate with you the whole way.

Namespro helped me consolidate all of the registrants that Sibername created for every drop I won there, and also when I had transferred names from other registrars that were done incorrectly...

they were quite helpful, I think they charged me $25 or something but it was about 16 different registrants and about 40 domains so it was well worth it...

BareMetal has an AUTOMATIC process for regisTRANT transfers.

I use NamesPro for registrar and registrant transfers. Single or multiple they are the best imho.
People have to remember to do the final "acceptance at CIRA" to say you are accepting the name. That is usually the one they forget ...and wait and wonder what happened to the name...

Baremetal.com/.ca hands down. Automatic process and if you have questions just call them or email and they answer very quick. 100% professional.
