Some days it feels like the internet has too many domains, endless clutter, abandoned sites, forgotten projects, and millions of names parked forever.
Other days, it feels like new ideas still deserve new names, and creativity shouldn't be limited by what's already taken.

So here's the question:

Do we need fewer domains or more?

I think the world doesn’t need more generic TLDs, it needs better ones and fewer of them.

The explosion of new gTLDs over the past decade has created more noise than value for most end users. While a handful like .app, .io, or .ai have carved out legitimate niches, the vast majority go unused or confuse customers who still instinctively trust .com dan ccTLD above all.

So rather than pushing for more TLDs, I’d argue we’d be better off stabilizing the space. Encouraging responsible use of existing extensions and letting the market, not registry marketing decide which ones truly earn their place.
