I bought a three character .mobi domain about a year ago. Was offered roughly $100 around then. What might it be worth now? Will its value have gone up, is it worth holding on to it?

3 characters is that 3 letters, or a mix of letters & numbers ?

For most LLL.mobi reseller value is around regfee. Depending on the name you might be able to fetch a bit more.
The ideal scenario is an end user.

It must be worth more than reg fee, someone already offered more than that.

It's not a random lll, it's a l-n.mobi, where the l-n is a text message abbreviation.

Where can I find end users?

Are mobi domains picking up or are people ditching them completely?

I think that the best way is to find out if the $100 guy is still interested.

This site bases their numbers on announced sales. The numbers they quote is the minimum wholesale price:

L-N.mobi is reg fee but if they are good letters then it may be worth more. Feel free to post in the appraisal section if you want to post the domain for an appraisal.

If it's really a l-n.mobi then you're wasting your money on registration cost. Check http://dnsaleprice.com for latest sales for .mobi.
