Love your new Domain Forum widget

Although I disagree with listing namepros, I started the forum friends exchange because namepros does not allow mention of other forums on their site. As soon as you say dnforum it changes to rule_violation.

On DN.ca I put the title as Domain Forum Friends and if possible I would suggest you keep that going. It is all about the free exchange of information. I allow namepros links and links to any other resource and it should be a two way street.

I notice you added the flags which is how we always did it but because Germany has two forums I changed the links to show the domain names upon hover.

See below...

Two approaches and both are quite nice but I still think calling it Domain Forum Friends has more meaning and shows friendly supporting forums.

apologies :D :D .. also, only recently (beginning of this year) heard this term... ir was mentioned as a possible danger to a niche if 1 force takes over all the major players.. .. My dream of Namepros is still alive - though if this happened > there (out of it) would appear tonnes of little independent domain name forums :D :D :D

A global forum linking to each regional ccTLD section and each ccTLD section linking back to the global.

All cultures and languages respected working as a single entity to promote the domaining space.

That is how I see it but it all starts with everyone joining the Domain Forum Friends Network.

I have reversed my opinion on this, goodwill starts from the inside so I need to blaze the way by making sure everything is open on the sites I have input on before I can ask others to do the same. That is why the Domain Forum Friends needs to grow and include everyone.

@MapleDots .. do you see yourself as a digital feudal in Canadian domain name investing space? :? .. just asking.. .. this strange though never leaves my mind...

Not at all, I encourage sharing of any type on our site, we have little to no rules, just guidelines. Any blog can join and promote their site as long as it's about domaining, which is what we do.

Other forums can do the same, if they want to talk about .ca so be it, there is room for all of us in this industry. Whenever I get a member that expresses interest into opening another .ca forum I invite them to join in as a mod. I tell them to become proactive and make the change they are looking for. Build the community into something that represents all members.

Would I link to a competing .ca forum?
Yes, I would be open and transparent knowing eventually the two forces would join because it truly only makes sense to have one site given the size of the user base. Most forums fizzle out when they water down so the stronger more open site will prevail.

Bigtech are the fuedal lords here... They have more Gain of function, and set rules. They end up owning the big pie... The 99% (consumers) generate great value (data, content, a very limited revenue), but ownership and profits stay concentrated with the digital landlords ( farmlands owned by 1% BigTech). People have to "stay" with them to reap benefits - That reflects a faint anology of Nfx (Network effects). The massive thumbs down is the 'pay-walled' / subscription economy ----> personal data is harvested and monetized without real ownership.. Closed ecosystems limit freedom. Read this --> """ You're locked into the terms, algorithms, and policies of the platform — exit options are minimal"""
