Domain Grabber using enom registers domains after few seconds from when they're available ... this means it can't compete against real scripts, Namewinner, Dropwizard etc ...

It does compete with namewinner at least. We have users that have registered several names with namewinner bids on, up to $26 at least I believe.

I don't expect the program to beat snap or dropwizard on many names but as for namewinner, I think you are overestimating their "scripts". Some people have beaten $8 NameWinner bids with type-in registrations.

Also, many scripts do no more than our program does - interface with the eNom registration API...

Sure they get some names - why wouldn't they. I'm sure most of the names on your list aren't $25 and under bids are they?

My point is this - if somebody has an bid $8 at namewinner you can either go up to $25, or you can use our software to try and beat the $8 bid. To date, our users have been very successful in that, saving themself $17 for every name registered. One user has 20 names already - you do the maths.

The person who released the "FREE" script is an idiot.

Someone was trying to sell the eNom script for a very
fair price of $45 (actually, too low in my opinion) and
the moron replied with a free copy in the same thread.

If he had started a separate thread, a few days or weeks later, it
would be completely different. Instead he tries to ruin someone
who has spent his/her time developing and testing a
drop script.

I already told him what I think about his actions, and I
seriously hope that it doesn’t happen again.

Needless to say, "FREE" and "CHEAP" are two things which
destroy the domain business. A good example is the yamoz
script. The creator decided to sell it for close to nothing ($100)
and now he's surprised that there are HUNDREDS of copies of it sold
on eBay for $20+. Pretty much anyone has access to
Yahoo/Dmoz drop lists through these sites and the value, quantity
and quality of those domains has decreased. One stupid move
ruins it for everyone!

If you love making freeware applications, and if you think
you can make a living doing it, get out of the domain game!

I won tcea.com with the Domain Guru / eNom grabber. It had a US$26 bid on it. (tcea.com is averaging 25 unique vistors a day)

I haven't lost a single name to a US$8 NW bid.

I'm very satisfied with the product and service.

Domain Guru, will you be updating your script were you can auto reg at other registars...like dotster or netsol, or will they not allow auto reg scripts to be used on their sites? Do you need permission or pay some money for that service???

I just can't figure out if you are a just a novice in the domain business recommending software that is 100% useless, or if you were getting a kickback from popular domains.

But it's obviously none of my business. Just keep in mind Lee, when you sell software that doesn't work, and you know it doesn't work, that's called fraud. Make all the excuses you want about "the sucker can try and get a refund" but it's still bad business.

Now that you finnnnnnaaaalllllyyyy did the right thing after some alot of prodding, why is it you waited soooooo long to retract your review of popular domains? Did you review the software and not know that it didn't work? Or were you not using the software you formerly heartily recommended? Either way it reflects on you professionally. I hope in the future you are more consistent with your lucky "customers".

If enom is as slow as it was for me tonight then I could literally hand reg'd a few names in the time it took me to finally checkout with just 3.

As far as snapnames, they sure win a lot just never any of the names i have snaps on.

Namewinner has won me 2 names both with under $25 bids. Names that had snaps on them yet I have never won a name where my bid was over $500 or even over $1000.
Go figure!
