For UK words and companies, Sedo can do quite well. But, overall, I do much better with DomainSponsor. I will be updating my website which reviews these two, and DS has really improved their advertisers. I am getting much better cpm at DS as compared with Sedo.

I updated my site last night with my latest results. I now get $11 with DS and $8 with Sedo. I know that DS was upgrading their advertisers, as they told me this was coming a few months ago. Sedo says that they are working on that too, as that is their weakest point. Sedo does not serve up many US links and >1/2 of my traffic is US traffic.

Sedo generates very nice looking pages, but the money comes from the advertisers (.i.e the web sites that are behind the links). So, the keys to high cpm for DS, Sedo etc are:
1) relevancy of links
2) ppc rates
Those keys depend, in large measure, on the advertisers.

so as a general rule, would you say that for 'global' domains, DS is better, and for European oriented domains (not just UK), Sedo is?

Well, first of all, any statement needs to be qualified with things like: "tends to do better" and "at this time". An individual name or even a group of names may work better at one PPC service than at another. And, everything is subject to change because the deals between PPC services and advertisers change all the time.

I would say that, at this time, most of my names tend to do better at DS. This includes some very good one word french names that I own, like Potage.com (soup) and Boxeur.com (boxer), even though the Sedo links page is in French. My names that have that have tended to do well at Sedo have mostly UK links. Check www.wenda.net for an example.

Sedo says that they should have some much improved results soon, as they are working on upgrading their advertisers, which is something that I have been telling them they need to do for some time.

DomainSponsor has new UK & European advertisers as a result adding PPC feeds from 2 major PPC engines

FYI

I won't on out on a limb and make claims of vastly improved revenues for UK/Euro traffic but that's what we were going for :)

Good Luck All!
