DoS attack against Sedo's parking program

greggish purge your cache and temporary internet files and see if that makes a difference.. there seems to be an issue with Sessions.

Thanks Namestrands. I'll give it a shot.

Unfortunately, I'm on at an internet cafe so I can't delete the temp internet files. I did hit Ctrl F5 to clear the cache but I still can't connect to Domain Management. I just get Page Loading but it doesn't load.

I clicked around a little more and while I still can't connect to Domain Management I am able to access Domain Parking and can see most of my stats there.

The DHTML stats don't seem to work properly; however the compensation is there and it's generous - Essentially they doubled my weekend revenue. Thanks Sedo.

Anyone notice if you go to Sedo.com it redirects you to http://212.227.34.5 Is this Sedo or a spoof? I did a whois on the ip and it shows:

inetnum: 212.227.0.0 - 212.227.255.255
org: ORG-SA12-RIPE
netname: DE-SCHLUND-980910
descr: Schlund+Partner AG
country: DE
admin-c: UI-RIPE
tech-c: UI-RIPE
status: ALLOCATED PA

That's Sedo - apparently also the new secure certificate isn't updated yet (still it's secure).

I notice that only happens when you type in www.sedo.com, but when you type in sedo.com it goes to their site normally. Still having problems loading up Domain Management page. :emba:

Same here . . . hope it's resolved soon

Sedo's complete website is down for me now. In addition, I try to access my
domain management page since about 24 hours, but I can't make any changes
to my domain listings. I hope the problems will be solved soon! Sedo's uptime
has become terrible.

I am getting this:

error 500: Interner Serverfehler

Das angegebene Skript konnte nicht fehlerfrei ausgeführt werden!

Hi Everyone,

Our tech team has gotten all parking pages up and running as of last night at 10:30 PM. We've recovered from the DOS attack and new measures are in place to prevent future problems.

Stats reporting pages should be working without issue [/email]

Guys...

Flush out your Temporary Internet Files and Cache.. also if possible flush your DNS cache.. There is an issue with session cookies it seems. Outside of the obvious fallout I am able to access the site with some ease after clearing out my Cookies and Cache.

Yes I agree that there are other problems but to be honest this is normal, from experience it took my company weeks to get back to 100% normality..

First kneejerk reaction is that you think its the code you changed so the tech teams start undoing code changes and then that starts a chain reaction. making things worse in most occasions.. then you think ==HACKERS== then you realise that DDOS so you have to remember everything you changed... lol its a nightmare and I dont envy the tech team at SEDO... but all good things come from Disaster as it make us more vigilant and aware..

I am sure SEDO will have proper procedures and policies in place for this type of incident in the future.

(I just want them to hurry up so they can approve my new keywords) :-P

I just accessed sedo (when i reported the above problem which persists) from my laptop that had not been to sedo's site in a couple of weeks, so I cant see how cookies would affect this since it happened (the problem) just over last weekend.
in any case, I did clear my cache and am still getting the same error.
specifically, I can log on, but when I go to view offers, this happens. I cant go to the offers page.

What can I say mine is working 100% I can access all sections of SEDO including Domain Management and Offers .. I have even updated prices and keywords

I am on the offers page as I type.. and no problems.. have also just deleted an expired offer.

Hello Jay,

Looks like everything is almost back to normal. I would like to apologize about the "they don't work weekends" statement. I based that on previous posts from your predecessors. Your bunch has been "extremely" busy this past weekend, and have overcome a nasty attack. Job well done. Sounds like "namestrands" has some very useful infomation that any web based business should take a look at, and or pass along. Good Luck.

Not fixed as of 2 min ago. Got this when going to the View Offers submenu from the MySedo area:

"error 500: Interner Serverfehler"

I too get the same error as Trader when using sedo.COM however all of sedo.DE appears to work fine

Ive been logged in and out of Sedo all day with no problems all areas are working fine for me, maybe if you are proxied you cant get by whatever they have done to stop the attack
