I cant get dropshark to work today (the program), and the site seems to be down.
everytime I visit, I get a 'runtime error' on the site itself.

Is it just me, or it for everyone?

The server that houses the main list aggregator and web service suffered a catastrophic failure last night. It is being repaired even as I type, and should be back up shortly.

Alas, version 2.0 anticipates this problem and has a backup server that it can fail-over to if need be. But version 1 never had this on the feature list as it was a major code set.

I have looked at dropshark and was unimpressed. I have not tried it but felt as if it was a poorly managed company and the man associated with it could mange it better. People who are paying...please help me and let me know why you use the site over some of the other tools out there.

Thanks in adavnce

Just for full disclosure, steven22 asked for free data, and I politely declined. If that's poor management, then I'm guilty as charged.

Chris, you get wierd people here.
Unfortunately.
If Steven was unimpressed, then that is his opinion, which we all accept as his, and , I personally thing it is BS.
But that's just me.

Is it really appropriate to criticize things you have not experienced?

MD....
people are strange.
It's like movie critics (no pun intented).
I have read so many 'negative' movie reviews from people who never bothered watching the movie that I take such people, and unfortunately, their entire 'kind''s opinion to be much lesser than my cat's. And I am a dog person.

I am not a software expert.

But, I consider Domain Shark an outstanding and also an expensive domain tool.

And, as I have said in the past, Domain Shark is expensive tool for me because
it is constantly finding too many domains for me to chase.

I also have to admit that I have not used it for the past couple weeks.
Because, I am spending all of money on renewals and transfers. :'(

(I am transferring all of my names out of Network Sol. so they don't auction them off.) :-D

In case anyone hasn't noticed, the server has been fully restored.

I'm double-checking the failover code for version 2, though we did find the cause of this failure so we don't expect to hapen again.

waiting for your version 2 :)

Me too. Believe me, I'm not wasting time trying to finish it up. My wife wants a ton of landscaping for our house, and the number of people who've told me that they didn't buy version 1, but will buy version 2 because of the features I've announced might buy some hedges and shrubs.

Or someone can offer me $50,000 and 10% for the whole project, including my time for future versions :-D

You need to tell your wife that you will do the landscaping next summer.

That you have people waiting by their computers for the newest version- 2.

Plus, when you start living in the apartment next week you will have a lot
of time to finish version 2.

You know something I don't? :shy:

Like my wife should kick me out of the house for working so much, or that I should get an apartment so I can work uninterrupted?

Can you be more specific, please? DropShark is not a "site" it's an application. And how does it suck? What, exactly, does it do to suck? And, more importantly, since I know you used the demo version, if it sucks, why did you purchase it, after being able to use all of its features?

I'm more than happy to make improvements based on suggestions, but to just say "it sucks" is rather unhelpful, and makes me wonder why you say it in the first place.
