Easynic - EasySpace

Hi,

It's a been a while since I've posted on here! It's just been noticed that our registrar easynic.com (or their parent company easypace.com) has been renewing domains that we have left to expire and been transferring the registration into their own name. Our old customers then have to buy them back from EasySpace at higher prices and ask us why the domains have never dropped.

The fact that they have done this without consulting their resellers is one thing - but it doesn't seem right that they are not letting them drop.

I'm contacting them now about this - but I wanted to know if this goes on with other registrars?

If you check out just about any other domain registrar you will see that there is a thriving domain aftermarket which is full of these types of domains.

There is nothing out of the ordinary about this - perhaps you could even renew them and do a similar promotion.

I have to say I have not seen this happen before. Do the likes of godady, tucows and enom not drop some customers domains and move the registrations into there own names for resale?

I would be interested in the view of others about this issue. As I'm sure most members are drop catchers I hope they will be able to comment on whether this is 'nothing out of the ordinary'.

I'm well aware that other registrars have 'drop catching' services and auction sites, but they do at least allow domains to drop.
