i was looking all over the internet to register a .edu domain...

alas found none?

plz help...

I believe you have to fill out a form to the governkent in order to acquire one. If you do not have the time or budget, .orgs are always useful for schools. (Not for colleges.)

You need to have some form of educational institution to even come near applying to get one.

That is correct. You are not going to be able to register one unless you are a educational institution and go through the proper channels with the government.
