Please appraise. I'm thinking of either selling it or turning it into an engineers' recruitment site on the basis that I might have the time.

Thanks!

Thanks DNjet, I didn't know/remember that one. My wildest dreams don't approach that figure though :(

If you compare it to engineering.org:

Searches done in September 2006
Count Search Term
53140 engineer

Google results - Engineers:
88,400,000

Searches done in September 2006
Count Search Term
49684 engineering

Google Results Engineering:
579,000,000

I would say that the .org would be a bit more valuable based on the engineer/engineering keywords, plus the Google results, so maybe your domain would be worth less than engineering.org... But I would say a six figure amount is possible... mid - high $xx,xxx anyway...

yes it sold at greatdomains, back in '98 or '99 , you have a stong niche domain there, hard to put a figure on it but to the right engineering group 50 to 75k

The extension greatly matches the domain!
I would expect a 5-figure appraisal to be average to conservative; a six-figure is tangible!

aZooZa pulls one from up his sleeve!

high five figures
very nice domain
And the market for this domain has the $ to spend, not like doctor or lawyer domains.

Sheesh!

Thanks much guys!

Edit: TBH, I had about $12k value in mind when I acquired it, but that was about two years ago. Time flies!

I may be conservative but my shot would be around 40K end user value.
Not so many .net sell for 6 figures.
If you want a concept idea or a possible end user: http://www.justengineers.net/ (not sure if they can afford your price but who knows)

Thanks SDS, it's their model I've been looking at for a few months now. There's a fortune in engineering recruitment, but you need the CVs.

Any more views on this? I wouldn't normally wake up a thread but all opinions are much appreciated. I want to hear the downside more than the upside, and more perceptions of wholesale~enduser value ;-)

It's a good name. If you develop it before next summer, I will throw up a poster at my school of Engineering :)

I'd say its worth a minimum of $10k and a maximum of 50k.

Any more suggestions for value on this one? Also, where do you think the best place to put it up for sale? Thanks!

15-20K, best is to wait for a lowball offer on Sedo and then just let it ride
