What kind of content/portal would you expect at www.England.net and how would you value it?

Thanks in advance for any comments and suggestions

User-generated traffic.
Free email.
Free hosting, free subdomains.

Then a main directory for all things England.
Travel info.
Business directories.
Phone numbers.

A shop, use ebay's API-
Trinkets, souvineers.

Real estate listings.
Weather.
Sports news.

One of those domains that could be worth anywhere from six or seven figures to the right media outlet.

Congrats, Markus! You did good!

If you want a similar domain you should go for Deutschland.net  .

With England.net i plan to target visitors outside UK,
you are right the .net does hurt in your country cause you are used to co.uk, but outside UK people might seek information about England at the .net extension, of course much less than having the .com version :)

further suggestions or comments welcome :)

Valuable name even if it's "just" a .NET! Make a football forum, or a profile of England out of it.

I think you are missing a huge market here.. being the .net you have the telecomunication sector to target.. and the PPC for telcos and ISPs is 10x that of any football keywords.. Not to mention a hosting directory.. ISPs. Broadband.. all high paying Keywords..

free email service

or subdomain it out.. football.england.net - mail.england.net - broadband.england.net.. multiple markets here..

Got to be TRAVEL - HOTELS - RESTAURANTS

There will always be people looking for travel information!

Plus London England just got the 2012 summer Olympic games,
just think of the mileage you can get out of that alone.

Hi Markus,

I think with england.net you have made a great catch, this domain can be used for travel portal (hotels etc.) or general information portal about England.
I wish you much success with this new great domain.

really a great name and you paid a fair and reasonable price for it, you didnt steal it but you definitely did not overpay imo, the sports angle works GREAT since it's the .net
(like the soccer NET in the goal? get it?) Also, the obvious usages for ISP related companies is there naturally, I am sure you will have no problem putting this baby to good use and the value will only GO UP forever on a name like this, solid long term growth potential and great investment IMO! Cheers and Beers! I'm half german! (are'nt we smart?) hehehe :)
