eRSS.com
________

Hopefully you all know what RSS is. :)

If you don't know, you can search google and see one of the 1,700,000,000 results for 'rss'.

So let me know what you think of eRSS.com .. I think it has great potential, but I want to know your pro opinions.

I really feel like developing this domain into a RSS directory site.

Anyways, please let me know your appraisals on this one. Thanks!

Great name. I see it as comparable (but not quite as good as) eSEO.com, which "sold" on Snap for a little over $2k. I say not as good because eSEO has commercial value as an actual name for an SEO company, whereas eRSS would appeal to a developer who was looking to make money off advertising rather than providing a service.

i would follow your strategy of devlopment, because I dont think you would get an offer undeveloped that you would think is worth taking, the name is nice, but probably not more than mid $$$, I would go with the development

lol
Considering that this one went for low x,xxx at Snap, and that is a good LLLL.com with repeating letters, this should be worth atlest low x,xxx, even without looking at the RSS connotations. Good letter LLLL.coms are selling for more than 1k at Snap, and their resale value is obviously much higher.

But taking into fact that the letters in this one actually mean something, I wouldn't be surprised to see this go for mid-high x,xxx. eSEO was something of a fluke to me - great keywords, VCVC pattern...it was worth much more than its 2k value.

Thanks, I was thinking the same. And I was also shocked that it didn't go higher at Snap. I am not really thinking of this name as a good LLLL.com with repeating letters, but rather as a e+<strong keyword>.com domain. :)

More appraisals are appreciated guys. Thanks!

LOL

snap = reseller

and actually, many names that sell on Snap for a certain amount will never fetch that again at a public auction among resellers again, many people think that you cant really get a good deal on Snap anymore and overpay for most domains

I am sure this domain has great potential to end users, its just always a tricky game when it comes to resellers

I think that this domain, in the right hands, can generate lots of revenue. All I need is a buyer who see the potential in it and has the time and effort to develop it.

So .. "Come out wherever you are, I have a name for sale!"

I also think most domains sell on snapnames for the upper reseller bound. Buying something on snap and reselling it later on a domain forum for more is very rare, only if you happen to find an end user and I think with this name it should be no problem.

I think you got a great deal there! Perfect domain to develop into a news site, I'd install some rss media center script on it, there are lots of those around.

Yes, I saw this one at snap too and decided not to bid...I believe most on this forum are savvy enough to look on snapnames for the drops....but I/ guess you never know.

Good luck with your new name.

I'll have to disagree. Not ALL deals on Snap are like that. I've picked up a few LLLL.coms over the past week for less than $70 (at auctions) that I'm sure will sell for mid xxx atleast.
But yes, there are many names on Snap that sell for much much more than their reseller value (DreamLife.com anyone?). Perhaps its the end users themselves who are bidding on them at times..

I was surprised too. I expected this one to go in the mid x,xxx atleast since worse names than this had gone for much more just a day before (CBNS.com for $1,160). I pulled out from the bidding simple because I knew this one would go pretty high.

You got a good deal IMO

Thanks a lot DNP, Ben and Sashad!

I will hopefully have time to start the development plans for eRSS.com this weekend. Expect lots of questions as I'm not too experienced when it comes to for example SEO.

More appraisals are very welcome. Thanks!
