The site for sale is Provance.net
http://www.provance.net

I purchased this site about a month ago. I usually buy small sites and I am realizing this site is just too much for me to run myself. This site needs someone willing to invest the time and energy to take it to the next level.

It is an established site that helps promote web blogs. There are over 1200 members and about 700 active members with provance.net links on their site. It is written in php and mysql and there are several server apps running as cron jobs.

The way it works is that every blog that joins adds a link back to the site and a random blog in the network is shown in addition. Also, every night the site does an email blast to all the users with three random links and each member agrees to go to the links and view the site and post comments. It really works too. This site is really popular and listed on 100's and 100's of blogs.

Google PR=5
Marketleap=466

The site is comprehensive to say the least.

There is a main site built on b2.
http://www.provance.net

It is all template based and there is a fantastic control panel for users and admins. There are tons of options and it is so easy to change the site or monitor things. You have to see it.

There there is the support forum.
http://provance.net/forum/
It is quite busy as you can see. There is a volunteer staff of three running the entire site so I have kept my hands off.

There is a helpdesk too and it is quite active as well. 10-20 tickets come in per day. Not usually anything critical.
http://provance.net/support/

The site is complete and stable and with the staff in place seems to run hands-off.

The cost of hosting is $40 per month. You may want to move this to a dedicated server if you want to scale this up to 2000+ active users. It will also run on a shared account although I wouldn't advise it.

The site opened in October of 2003, so the members have been joining at an alarming rate. If you look at the referrals you'll most clicks come from members' sites and search engine traffic. There is no cost promoting this site.

I just put stats up last night:
http://extremetracking.com/open?login=sfernald
looks like maybe 500 or so uniques a day to just the main site (very early to say on one day's stats so keep an eye on it). This doesn't count the helpdesk, support forum or all the links on member's sites.

I just put the google adsense and with that and the pop-under I make about $10 a day (so far after just a few days). The thing I'm not taking advantage of yet is the fact that this site emails 1000 users every single day and they are actively expecting it and ready to click on the links. The email advertising potential is huge here.

In conclusion, somebody spent a ton of time building this thing. The options in the control panels are extensive. The thing works and is rock-solid. It is established and growing at an alarming rate. The revenue streams have not been taken advantage of yet.

The buy it now price for this site is $2000 or best offer. Send me pm for additional questions please.

Hi,

Are you interested in selling the script that runs the site? If so let me know.
Thanks.

No that goes to the new owner. It will be his proprietary technology alone.
