Estibot Appraisals

I don't know why...but there are times that i am curious on the value of names at estibot.


Anyone know the criteria that they are using? I was doing first name appraisals on it and found out that there was one name 7 letters long appraised at $730,000. The name has 51 million google results.

Then, i did a name that was more popular and only 5 letters long with google results of 81 million and the value of that was $390,000.

In reality these names would not sell for that much to a reseller. But, i am curious why one name that is less popular is valued more. Both are sites that are not developed.

so how could you find logic in bot appraisals?

when it's not a LL/NN LLL/NNN or combo of, then it has different standard for pricing...

otherwise, it makes no difference how long the domain is

the value is within the scope of it's potential to deliver type-in traffic

based on whether it's product, service or niche' specific

and if there are paid ads for terms in se's

then you would break down those terms for potential epc

so, even though one name may have more results and is valued lower than the one with less results, the value could be attributed to what the epc is.


ie:

the low result domain may get less searches and visitors, but the epc is $1.20

the higher result domain may get more searches and visitors, but their epc is only $0.32


one thing to note also,

popularity may not always put one domains value higher than another.
when you consider what each domain/site is popular for.

I double checked and you were right. The one with less results has a higher PPC and more overture results, yet i find that it's a less popular name.

I am not sure if this matters at the end of the day when you're selling...but good to know!

This has been brought up 50,000 times, do a search for automatic appraisals. Any serious domainer should already know the value of a domain name.

Even though sometimes EstiBot is a bit, or a lot off, it is still the best appraisal bot. I have seen comparisons before and EstiBot appraisals more closely to the sale price than others...

Estibot is a useful tool to get an idea of the value for a domain but one will never know what it will sell for until the domain is put on the market and the end users make the price..

I have a domain I put in Estibot.... and it says USD 39,000 and with traffic USD 53,000

But the site makes around $1k per month right now.. and the domain is very strong in it's niche and sedo said it was worth $8k when I got it appraised by them over 12 months ago..

I know I would not sell the domain for 8K but for $53K (Current Site and all) it would be very tempting...
