Just look at the other appraisals and I think you will understand.

You may want to replace the prefix of your name from "ice" to "ASS"

I still vote Gaming website. Kids would eat this name up! Like a site for Doom cheat codes or something.

WebHold does not own fear.net, this forum is for names that YOU own.

Good detective work TopNames.com (I assume).

I have realised from other posts that we are only supposed to post names we actually own.

This is only mentioned in a sort of indirect way in the description of the appraisal forum on the home page.

I propose this be amended to be more explicit. .e.g. "Only post names that you own". or something better.

Or maybe "post domains you own...

The bolding of "your" on the home page encourages selective blindness :)

Mods - could you consider this amendment?

Thanks

So many assumptions are made the further down in a thread one replies. Funky. Good spot, TN.

The going rule as I've seen it is that you CLEARLY outline your relation to the name if you do not OWN it. I don't think there is a huge problem with getting appraisals for a name one does not own, so long as it is clear what that relationship is. ::: shrug :::

Fair enough Nexus.

However, I wonder whether a Newbie on their first appraisal post is going to know all this.

If there are any "rules", I think it would be good if they were written down, so that people know whether they and others are within the "rules"/ guidelines or not.

Just my thoughts.

Could be posted as a CLOSED thread "STICKY" at the top of the Appraisals forum. "Rules for Posting Appraisals".

the rules are in the description on this forum...it clearly states:

"Don't waste $50 for a "professional" appraisal on your domain, post your domain name here and seek advice/valuations from other domain speculators."

WHAT did I tell you back on 3/11, WebHold??!!

Edit 3/13 pm: I should note that I have had PM contact with WebHold regarding this issue ... and he has been more than apologetic regarding NON-ownership appraisal posting!! I don't believe you'll ever see this again from him, he's a stand-up dude, folks.
Thanks!

Good idea Nexus.

I would give you a thumbs up icon, but don't know how to do that :(

I am in negotiation in an attempt to purchase this name. While I was seeking advice I did not read in the rules that you must own the name. This is my fault and it won't happen again. I have now read the rules in full.

Maybe we can post for advice on domain purchases in the lounge or miscellaneous forum. Either way, I thank all that replied. The thread is now dead.
