i was going to develop a music site for this domain but i don´t have time right now (to many projects).

I was thinking off a site were you can buy, sell and trade cd´s, dvd´s, vcd´s. Yes you should be able to trade them for free, one reg fee for trading then it´s free for life. When they sell it should cost some money.

Will consider all other options.

This is cruical for the project, first we have to set a goal!!!

Personally I don't care about branding (yeahh maybe thats way I use .info domains and even hypened domains) or the number of visitors.
As I look at it, branding was one of the BIGGEST mistakes in the golden dot com time, branding was the goal, TO MAKE MONEY came second.

I have only one more day left in my dayjob ( I quit because of the .info income). The company I worked for offered me $150/hour to continue as an independent consultant, so i said yes to 6 more months, because of this I can offer some of my domains available for this test!

I belive we all are into this game to make money, from the "how much money do you make online" threads I have an impression that not to many of us does.

I could then be a "consultant" and guide the participant (as much as my time allow it) with my experiance on raising my affiliate comissions from 0 to 10k in 6 months, and allowed me to quit my dayjob, from my .info domains.

Offer:
premium .info domain(s) with super affiliate consultancy.

What I belive is the best commercial use of .info:
Products and cervices

Thanks!

I like what you're saying Windows. What info name would you choose to put up?

I will be getting involved in the second edition of this project. I am spread very thin already - and just have too many other commitments right now - and don't have the time or resources to give at the moment. It's a cool idea and I look forward to being involved next time. This should be a fun experience for everybody involved.

SportsTrivia.us

Reasons for Development:

Sports are universal, sports are leisure and profitable..from "collectibles to gambling"

Triva game sites are addictive..meaning repeat traffic.

Along with the trivia we carry the wide range of sports products, from jersey's, baseball caps, sports cards,Nascar collectibles, boobleheads etc..

Sports fans are BUYERS..

The site would need a the wide range of talent here at DNF..

The sports graphics, the Trivia scripts specialist, the affiliate program specialist, database people ..search engine people, linking people etc...

The site should be broken up into the specific sport pages, Nascar, Baseball, Basketball, Football etc...

Based on the early projections from the poll I did earlier in the week on reasons why we don't actively develop, "Lack of time" was the #1 reason. That is a very interesting fact that seems very apparent. I thought for sure it was money.

I think that is why I came up with this project in the hopes we can pool our time to help each other build. All it would take is one really good site to launch someone, then another, then another.

As far as your time goes Namepopper you definitely don't have to worry. You've stated before that your time is pretty much limited. If we can get you on the next project that would be a plus!!

I envision this first project taking a little extra time as we all "figure out" the kind of power we have. There is power in numbers, something that is often overlooked.

izopodian philosophy: The power of the internet if used for it's intended purpose (collaboration) could launch many sites in my estimatation.

izopod I trully agree with your last comment. I am really bored with designing graphics. :(
I can help with all the other aspects such as programming and research.

Your expertise will come in handy DvDrip!!

Something to think about:

I came across an article in Forbes Magazine yesterday where a young 17 year old is collaborating with other web designers around the globe to launch different sites. His latest project:

http://www.seanjohn.com

I've never been a big "flash design" fan, but truly some of the best projects I've seen on the net are ones that "have a lot of input" from people outside a physical location. The reason: We pretty much say what we mean via computer/telephone. When you are huddled together (as designers/programmers) group cliches tend to ruin a good thing.

izopodian philosphy: Since time is running against us why not pool our shared resources. Those groups that do usually benefit economically, AND tend to have more "free time" since the thinking is "many hands, make light work". The big thing in all this is ones level of commitment and that is why a lot of internet driven projects have died.

Don't forget if you want your site to be considered please list it here before 11:00 AM EST tomorrow. The sooner the better so everyone who wants to be involved can have time to make their decision.

izopod, I think it would be convenient if the people/sites up for voting were listed in the first post on the voting thread. It would help refresh people's minds as to their voting options, and if they want more information about an individual/site they can refer to the descriptions under this thread.

I thought about that Shiftlock and then I decided that would be "too easy". We need people on this project who will take the time to go through a thread to see what sites are up for a vote.

Why not go with a domain that has never been developed, never used. Start from scratch to see possible results. Search terms would be nice. Maybe start a team A and team B on two voted upon domain names, and see wjo comes out with the best results.

Just an Idea.

Whats the verdict?

I have boarder.com with some built in traffic (60-120 uniques a day.
Also already has Vbulletin set up and a thrown together homepage with affiliate links.

The verdict was buy.info but I don't see much interest in the project.

Yep, buy.info is a solid name, but could be a bit too generic to develop into a differentiated site without the big bucks needed for such an expansive business model - unless its confined to specialist portal for buying great .info domains on the aftermarket.

retailcareers.co.uk

- you could develop the "domain" into something similar :)

Put a few affiliate links, though I reckon that employment programs have one of the highest payouts in CJ.com
