mexy.com - i think it is a could name!
i would like to have it developed as an appartment site. i would redirect appartment.com (75 - 100) uniques daily to it, so that we would get some targeted traffic! i think it would be great to see this domain developed!
edit: (added this part) i also think that mexy.com is an easy to remember name. i bought it from another member for US$ 1 and we could show everybody how to start a project on a $1 domain!
could also provide detailed stats. oh, and it's a .com!

1. most DNF guys are good at hosting stuff.
2. investment is low if not to run the hardware.
3. ecommerce is the keyword, again, plenty guys here are good at web merchandise, check those Chinese web shops and you will know why they need this kind of services.
4. .cn is just open and hopefully there would be a cn fever to a certain degree, good timing.
5. some DNFers as well as myself are good at Chinese, so no language barrier problems.
6. we sell domains, what else could be better than a hosting business for us?

I'd love to see a us name developed and submitted to the registry on the next "Best of US" contest. This one might be a little easier to develop content for, and with all the affiliate programs to chose could actually make some money.

Whatever the name chosen, I'll pay for a logo and banner and will help research affiliate programs.

I think it has a lot of potential. It can have subdomains like dvd.buy.info etc.

Before we start we have to set a goal:

What do we want to do? brand? max. visitors? get many "thank you" email, or do we want to make as much money as possible??

This is cruical for the project, first we have to set a goal!!!

Personally I don't care about branding (yeahh maybe thats way I use .info domains and even hypened domains) or the number of visitors.
As I look at it, branding was one of the BIGGEST mistakes in the golden dot com time, branding was the goal, TO MAKE MONEY came second.

I have only one more day left in my dayjob ( I quit because of the .info income). The company I worked for offered me $150/hour to continue as an independent consultant, so i said yes to 6 more months, because of this I can offer some of my domains available for this test!

I belive we all are into this game to make money, from the "how much money do you make online" threads I have an impression that not to many of us does.

I could then be a "consultant" and guide the participant (as much as my time allow it) with my experiance on raising my affiliate comissions from 0 to 10k in 6 months, and allowed me to quit my dayjob, from my .info domains.

Yes, first things first. We'll all be choosing the site this coming Tuesday, April 1, 2003. The voting will be done in the open, meaning I will start a new thread in this forum (Domain Development) at exactly 11:00 A.M EST.

The subject heading of the thread will be PROJECT "X" VOTE. If you see it, cast your vote. The thread will be open 12 hours and will close at 10:59 P.M EST. Whoever's site gets the most votes will get the nod.

After the website/person is chosen, then it's onto the discussion phase; who will do what, seed money etc. I will start another thread for that, you guessed "PROJECT X DISCUSSION".

I think it's easier for everyone if we use the thread for our discussions, that way we can involve everyone. IF we want to use the chatroom, we'll need to post what was discussed then in the thread. I'll leave that up to whomever intiates the "chat discussion".

My responsibility in the project will be to nail down who is doing what and to be chief "fundraiser"---I would ask the website owner, whose site is picked to be Co-fundraiser, project leader.

As was discussed earlier, we'll need to first come up with a solid "game plan", of where to go from here type stuff. This is where the fun will begin, and where we all learn something. If someone has launched a successful website, your input would be gladly appreciated. This project will be goal orientated. Once "posititions" are filled, then we'll have to come up with dates for completion, etc.

PLEASE NOTE: When you do vote for a website, don't forget you are also voting in some respects for the owner as well. If the person has a good name, but isn't committed, the project will go nowhere, and we all don't want that. My suggestion would be to "act" like investors... If you don't know someone with a name you like, or idea, begin to ask them questions before the vote.
