No, its not mine, but I figured I would throw it out here on the board to see what kind of response the dnforum gave it.

How much, in $, do you think that domain is worth.

This is an interesting one.
Not so many searches at Overture (2,5K), but seeing the bids
of $15.00 per click (!!!) I would appraise it to at least $25K.

I still want to know the answer to my previous queston =)

If so, lets assume he develops a good site and gets 150 unique visitors a day.

If he sets that link to auto-poup everytime someone enter the site, he would make 15*150 = 2250 dollars a day

or am I missing something here =) ?

Well almost right IceHole.
They pay to Overture $15 for every click it comes through their
affiliate search (big ones) engines.
But don't abuse it by clicking constantly on that link.:D

Why are you appraising it if you don't own it, are you trying to buy a similar name of anmother state?

floridalawyer - $500-2500

but.. sureley something must be wrong =)

I mean.. that 2200 a DAY just if you get 150 uniques a day (they dont even have to click, its popup)

Would they accept that, or would they cancel the account? (not mis-using, they are all legitimate hits from different IPs)

They need only one case for covering months of advertising.

You would be surprised to know how much costs just one click for the word "mesothelioma".

No, you have to be as powerful as Overture to get that money from your clients.

Don't really understand.

I.E: say i develop a travel site.

According to Overture, the best paying company for "travel" is [email protected] dollars

If i then develop a site with 100 uniques and a the prbitz-popup, what do I make?

What do you mean by being as powerful as Overture?

You have to convince a company that you will bring them qualified
clients. Yes, you can determine the rates and conditions,
but the big ones work gladly with Overture which covers the following search engines: Yahoo, Altavista, MSN, Lycos, CNet, InfoSpace, Netscape.
If you pay to Overture the highest bid for your search phrase, you
will be listed first in all of those SE, in commercial section, you now
that "sponsored links".

However, if you have a pure name, like floridalawyer.com, then there would seem to be no reason you could not establish a pay-per-click listing with regard to floridalawyer.com. Or something similar with leasing parameters.

Anyways, just a thought. I am still looking for other thoughts as to pricing so I can determine for myself whether the reserve the owner quoted to me is worth it. It ain't cheap.

thanks

My thoughts too.

However, if you want to BUY it, then forget my words. I could get the fault if you don't sell it.
I have to be honest and say that I sold only two names using this approach. The money was not worth of all the efforts.
I also think developing and paid-linking would be best way.

All 400 .com names begin with "Build" and then a State, or City, for example: BuildNevada.com and BuildLasVegas, BuildReno.com and BuildLaughlin.com any advise appreciated.
