Not just $ appraisals, but also how much you like the name in general. I intend to make it a forum for foodies of course. :)

Never heard the term.
It only gets 64 google hits so I guess that makes me in the majority :)

"foodie" returns 28,400 results on Google. But you are right about non-foodies being in the majority. Foodies are certainly the rarer breed...


A foodie is someone whose culinary interests expand beyond the ordinary hum drum of "the meal."

The foodie sees:

The kitchen as a studio;

Utensils as the brushes;

Food as the paint;

The plate as a palate;

The meal an experiential gallery of shared consumption; and

The wine is a garden of liquid delight.

To the foodie, food is an art – the art of consumptive expression.
