Ford is phasing out Taurus, once the best selling mid-sized car in the States:

Can't believe it. I almost bought one a few years ago. I guess it also signals the end of an era (that of the boomers).

LOL! That's because Taurus is designed for the boomers, and beauty is in the eye of the beholder! This is also the reason why they have to phase it out as the boomers themselves are phasing out ...

I had an 86 taurus, as ugly as she was, the engine worked awesome. I gave her to a high school friend of mine 2 years ago only because the rust was getting awful.

Funny thing is, if you find tauruses from the same couple years, the rust stains are in nearly the same place on each car.

My 86 was made in Chicago, I never knew they had a ford plant there!
