Greetings.

Two years ago, I bought this domain from a private owner: freeforumhosting.com

I didn't do much at first and only started a small blog a few months ago. There is some good content, but not a lot. I'm thinking of selling the domain, since I don't really have a need for it. Godaddy appraises it at 2200USD but I'd like to know what you all think this is worth.

I believe it's ranked in the first page on Google.

if the domain gets any visitors/traffic, then maybe redirect it to an affiliate hosting program or add some affiliate links to your website.
without any traffic, then there's no return in offering free hosting.

Godaddy very often puts a high appraisal worth on domains . I think it is because they are in the domain selling business and try to give the impression that buying domains is a money spinner . It can be , but the domain has to offer a lot . It needs to be faily well aged , have preferably thousands of backlinks pointing to the domain , still receive good visitor traffic etc . Ask Godaddy if they willing to offer you even half the price they are valuing your domain at . They probably will not even respond or be willing to offer a quarter of their so called valuation . I do not know all the details of your domain , backlinks , age etc so not saying it is defintely not valuable but I would not place any credence on Godaddy's valuation

No, I certainly didn't put much trust in godaddy's appraisal. It seems that they're often out of their minds.

if...
you had let the domain stand on it's own, without mentioning godaddy appraisal, then -
maybe somebody else would have checked it and "thought/assumed" it was worth that amount.

i don't give it weight, but those who don't know better, are more likely to consider it.
so, if you list it for sale on afternic, then it's best to price it "under" the appraisal value.

Back in the early to mid 2000's that would have been a desirable domain and probably worth a couple of thousand. Just don't see any market for free forum hosting nowadays.
