IMO they're a good fit.

When I think of organizations, I think of communities.

Communities are exactly what forums are all about.

Thanks for your opinion Daddypi. One of the forums I regulary goto is *******forum.org, and I never really thought that .org was bad for a forum either. Of course I would rather have the .com, but usually that is already taken for a common word followed by forum or forums.
