I wouldn't have registered it. I've said it numerous times before. The .co.uk extension isn't a gTLD. You can get apparently good domain names within .co.uk that have next to no value in comparison with their equivalent .com domain name.

Unfortunately a lot - especially non UK residents - don't understand what is viable as a .co.uk and what isn't. Each to his/her own but, as I said, I wouldn't bother with this name (or a lot of the stuff AvGuy has posted on here recently) if I am truely honest.

Nice name for a UK computer related retailer. My brother sold "ecruise.co.uk" back in the year 2000 for $9000 dollars.

gigabyte.co.uk (singular) would have been significantly better. I might have registered that myself.

Also, it is important to take into account that in 1998-2000 many domain names were fetching much higher prices than they would do these days. IMHO people became much more realistic regarding the value of 'mediocre' domain names.

Finally, if someone *really* wants a name for whatever reason they're likely to be prepared to pay more for it.

Why are .co.uk domains valued so low?

60 million people, quite a high percentage online, all crammed into a land area size the size of a few US states.

It's quite easy for a company at one end of the country to provide a service to the other end of the country.

Therefore you'd think a .co.uk would be good value. So why isn't it?

Because anyone, who's ANYONE wants to be in .com. Plain and simple.

I've found when trying to sell some domains to UK companies that many won't buy unless they can get both the .com and .co.uk - so both should be of equal value. But you gotta have both.

Depends on the company. Some only care about one or the other. Some already have the other. Again, it also depends on the domain name in question as well as other factors that the potential buyer may rate as important.
