Hi,

Just a couple questions...

Firstly, are these like snaps where you pay $20 to get a credit which you keep until you actually get a name? Basically, you only pay $20 per name you catch, not every name you attempt to catch...right?

Secondly, if the name is backordered with Pool, NameWinner and Enom, what are the chances of getting it wit GoDaddy?

Thanks

Peace

Yes, you can keep the credit until you get a name (up to one year i believe).
No cost for the attempts.

The chance of you catching a .com/.net/.org when the name is backordered with Pool, NameWinner and Enom, is very very slim. However, they have better success with .biz and .us names

You must replace your backorder very quickly (24hrs? Or is it 3 days?) or you loss the credit I believe.

I wouldn't waste my time with godaddy on .coms or even with other TLDs unless you have some backorders to waste and the time to look for borderline crappy names.

alright then, on to NameWinner it is...

wait, what's the base bid at Enom drop club?

do you have to pay anything to sign up, or does it only cost money when you get a name?

Everyone calls them points but I have yet to read about "points" at eNom (although they are probably there). It's just the amount you hold in your account as far as I know.

1 pt is just above $1USD since they charge $3 per 100 points for each refill.

???

that would mean each $1 USD = 33 enom pts

seeing as base bidding starts at 10 pts and in their help menu it says that is equal to $10 it seems (for non-resellers at least) that $1 USD = 1 enom pt

No that would mean that 97 points are $100.

Godaddy never suceeds in catching anything. Their backorder system is just an excuse to spam you to buy other products twice before the name drops and then one more time to apologise for not catching anything, imho. The funny bit is that you pay Godaddy for the priviledge of receiving their veiled spam.

I'm not a big fan of their backorder service but you can change your "Email Preference..." in "Account Settings" under "Customer Info & More" in your account. (Have never rec. ANY advertising up till now!)

Can you not put a backorder in with Godaddy if the name is in the pending delete phase? Do you have to do it before then?

Or is it just that somebody else has put a backorder in with Godaddy on the same name before me?

I'm thinking the latter.
