F'ing dicks! That is who I have my private email with. It's not just GD. It is their entire services! All their services!

DDoS is my guess.

They are not using Godaddy hosting?

No, they use go.daddy DNS but they don't host with them. As a result they are down anyway. It's a DNS issue.

Fending off DDOS attacks can be difficult.
This attack is one reason why you want a third party DNS service for increased resilience.
So many sites use DNS hosted at go.daddy, here is the result.

Escrow is big enough to spend money on multiple dns servers. I'm sure they will check their setup now. It's been a full day, their website is down.

Godaddy posted a message on the official site (which seems to be resolving now but with zero functionalities)

"We are experiencing problems. We understand this is impacting some customers and we take this situation very seriously.

Yeah, guess how many phone calls I have gotten in the past few minutes asking if I have checked my email?

Now that it is after 5pm or end of business day on east coast...my wife has called asking why she can not get email, one client called to ask if I had checked my email, and a recruiter called saying they had been trying to get me to set up an appointment with a client and will have to try to reschedule tomorrow.

This just sucks so badly. I mean BIG BAD SUCK!

What about bringing over a domain already used for current email? I can't bear to think about having to change all my email addresses.

You may, do you have backup of your existing email using .PST or other similar backup? So you can upload these old messages to your google apps. Once you have access to your Godaddy email, you can also export your email address book it later.

What is the domain name? Where is your domain name hosted?

That's odd. Everything is working for me right now, including logging in, FTP site, domain manager, etc. Try a reboot.

Many competitors are promoting this to make some dollars...

Hostgator is giving 6 months away or 50%... the coupon is godaddyisdown and the promotion link HostGator

Name.com is also doing the same... $6.99 transfers and 50% on hosting.

All emails that I had in my inbox prior to the attack are now gone.

I just logged into my account and the only emails present are emails hitting the server during and after the attack. Emails timing starts at 11:55. Everything else in inbox (pending stuff, opened yet stuff I had not responded to yet, or unopened emails) prior to that are gone.
