Dear Mr. ***,

Thank you for taking the time to write in, and Happy New Year to you also. We would like to inform you that our backorder service has changed to include an auto-name guaranteed catch similar to what you mentioned. This change was made near the end of the year, and unfortunately is not retroactive to the two domain names you mentioned, which will go through the regular process. However, in the future if you backorder a domain that is currently registered with the Go Daddy Group, and that domain expires without being renewed by the registrant and falls to redemption, you will be 100% guaranteed to catch the name.

Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Kindest Regards,

***@godaddy.com

I think thid only works if you backorder before the redemtion period or am i wrong?

Just when I thought there was a glimmer of hope for the piss-poor registrar known as GoDaddy! Today the theory was once again proven WRONG. I kept one name on backorder for a long time waiting to see if a GoDaddy domain would be caught by a GoDaddy Backorder. Well it happened again.
We're sorry. The following domain name that you backordered was not captured successfully:

I equate GoDaddy to AOL. Internet on training wheels.

before just to test the theory.

I had a couple names encountering the same issues with GD backdoor. Ahh, disappointed.

I've also had success with godaddy. About 700 names last year.

I've gotten several excellent names even including a couple of high level .COMs with good traffic. It takes lots of patience and time but if you don't like paying $x,xxx or $xx,xxx for good drops; it's worth the gamble. Mind you, feel free to ignor this!
